Yesterday I preached from Philippians 2 and how our attitude towards each other matters. I listed my "Top 10 Family Whinges" and concluded with 5 ways to whinge well. See sermon podcast here

The irony was that on Saturday we hosted our daughters birthday party at our home. After hours of gardening and cleaning up the garage, to say my attitude was poor was an understatement. I was over it. By the end of the day all I could think about was the fact that my attitude had let my wife down and that I was the biggest hypocrite in the world to preach on attitude the next day. Thankfully I had keep the inner beast under control and still managed to deliver a round of ripping party games for 12 kids 6years and younger. All was not lost. After some honest confessing to my wife before going to bed, the message to be delivered to the congregation the next day took on a new perspective. We all need to constantly work on our attitude. No one is exempt. No matter how bad our attitude gets, there is hope for us all.
